Teaching Philosophy
It's okay to fail.
Science has proven that your brain grows when mistakes are made. In fact, your attitude has more to do with your achievement than your IQ. I believe students are a blank slate and it is important to build upon their interests. I want to use this information to my advantage and cultivate their passions. In my classroom, I will encourage my students to use their frustration to find solutions and their curiosity to ask questions. I intend to help foster critical thinking and problem solving skills, while encouraging the ability to work collaboratively with one another. I have a predetermined belief that children are brilliant and my job is to help students tap into their fullest potential. I believe it is of utmost importance to show students that they have the knowledge within themselves and each other, and it is my job to help them learn how to find the answers on their own. My ultimate goal is to create lifelong learners that are excited about their education and to help them truly take their education into their own hands.
